My elementary school use to hold an event called "The Olympics". Every year, each grade would pick a country and we would learn things about the country and work on projects based on the country's culture until the end of the year. At the end of the year, we would all parade around dressed in clothing to represent the country and complete with the grade above or below us.
I don't remember what country my class was but I remember my sister's class very well. At the time, she was in 1st grade and her class was representing Mexico. My mom picked us up from school and we were both riding in the back seat of the car along with my mother's friend. I'm not sure how this started but I remember that my sister and I started fighting in the back of the car and she had a little Mexican flag in her hand. The next thing I know is that this flag found it's way into my eye.
The fighting stopped and I started screaming that she stabbed me in the eye. My mother raced to the hospital and the end result was an eye patch for a week. Fortunately, she did not do any real damage to my eye and to this day, I have had good vision.
